ORIGIN
Comstock Cartridge Company was born out of a deep-rooted passion for shooting, history, and craftsmanship. Founded by Nevada shooters who know firsthand the joy of precision and performance, we started in Reno, reloading our own ammunition to fuel our love for the sport. What began as a necessity—creating custom ammo for long range shooting, hunting and competition—evolved into a mission to deliver high-quality, handcrafted cartridges to fellow shooters. Inspired by Nevada's rich heritage, we blend tradition and innovation to produce ammo designed by shooters, for shooters.

“Firearms have always been a part of my life…”
I grew up in the Deep South Mainly Texas and we had guns before bikes growing up. Hunting rifles, shotguns and 22’s were part of my youth as almost every Family “vacation” was a hunting trip and we took a lot of vacations. My poor mom went everywhere with us.
I learned to shoot by putting lots and lots of rounds down range and so I had to start reloading. Years later I started shooting competitively and realized there was a whole other fun side to shooting and an even bigger need to reload. We bought an RV and traveled and shot as a family for a few years and that was as good as it gets. We shot everything and I did pretty good and even won Stage #5 at USPSA Multigun Nationals in 2018.
To support the shooting habit I worked as a Deputy Sheriff for 24 years and spent about 15 years of that on the SWAT Team assigned as the Sniper/ Observer (SNOB) Team leader, Actual Team Leader and Team Commander. I was also one of the plank members of our Tactical Medicine Program, Active Assailant Program, blah, blah, blah.
Firearms have always been a part of my life whether for hunting, fun or carrying a gun for a living for 24 years. The older I get I still enjoy guns but I like them quieter and more accurate. I continue to hunt avidly and shoot guns for fun with friends and family on a regular basis. The Hitch favorite family activity is still shooting quiet guns in the hills off the side by side.
